All of Speiro’s impact begins when believers like you step forward in response to the great commission with a financial gift, aimed towards enabling gospel workers to go and stay in the least reached parts of the globe. Speiro fundraises one-time and recurring cash donations here, as well as works with donors on the gifts of other securities, including stocks and bonds. Speirō utilizes a non-complex and passively managed portfolio, similar in nature to what a standard retirement account may look like. Our primary investment account includes a mix of equity (long-term growth) and fixed-income (short term disbursement) securities. Speiro does not engage in stock picking, but rather diversifies its holdings. Speiro’s treasurer is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Then Speiro, having received donations and moved them into our investment portfolio, identifies who the donee recipients will be. Speiro utilizes a points based framework to prioritize several key factors, the foremost being the nation which the missionary will reach. Speiro requires that it’s donees be affirmed by their local sending church, affiliated with a missons sending organizations which can facilitate the transfer of our funding, and affirmation of Speiro’s Statement of Faith. We also consider whether or not the donee has life or language experience pertaining to the target nation, and other factors.

Speiro’s leadership comes together multiple times per year with opportunities to commit new, recurring funding commitments to the highest ranked candidates, based on the eligibility screenings and prioritization framework previously described. Speiro will use a certain percentage of assets under management (AUM) to disburse each year, and the selected missionary will receive a funding commitment that will be given every year until they leave the field or Christ Jesus returns, whichever is first. Speiro’s self sustaining and economically resilient funding model is what allows it to make perpetual and guaranteed gifts, permitting the overseas worker to remain in place even at times when others may be losing funding due to doners withdrawing support in trying times.

With every donation received, Speiro grows one step closer to ensuring the sending and stability of a missionary family who is serving in a place with almost no access to the gospel. Speiro will routinely select new donees, and bolster support to existing missionary partners who have already received your donations from afar. Speiro is actively gaining relationships with new sending organizations to identify the work being done in these places, and focus your donations on those who are equipped and capable of reaching these nations.
